The word SISU cannot be translated. It's somewhat like having guts, not giving up and being persistent. It's the most Finnish thing I know.

It is a black liquorice candy as well and you need to have some SISU to eat it ;-)

It's okay if we don't talk all the time. Silence is a common thing in Finland and we don't feel uncomfortable being silent with a friend. Actually one definition of a friend is a person who you can comfortably spent time without talking!
